Preisinger Named LPGA Southeast Sectional President

Kiawah Island Club’s Director of Golf Instruction to Lead Teaching and Club Professionals

January 4, 2011 (Kiawah Island, S.C.)  -- Carol Preisinger, Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) Master Professional and Director of Golf Instruction at the Kiawah Island Club, has been elected the LPGA Teaching and Club Professional Southeast sectional president effective immediately.  The two-year term oversees more than 300 LPGA Teaching and Club Professionals in Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Florida who are dedicated to furthering the LPGA’s commitment to offering state-of-the-art education in the area of golf education and the business of golf for teachers, coaches and club professionals.

“My work with the LPGA spans more than two decades both as a player and a teaching instructor,” said Preisinger.  “Being nominated as a sectional president is a tremendous opportunity to share my experience and unique teaching philosophies with other teaching professionals to not only help them but help their students as well.”

Preisinger credits her love of teaching to her father, a PGA Life Member.  His influence and the LPGA’s strong educational foundation have allowed Preisinger to communicate and work effectively with men, women and children from the amateur level to the collegiate ranks.  Preisinger is continually ranked in the Top 100 teaching professionals list by GOLF Magazine.

As the Southeast sectional president, Preisinger has outlined three areas of focus during her tenure.  They include enhanced educational opportunities for members, greater brand awareness for LPGA Teach and Club professionals and better access to educational and communication programs.  In addition, Preisinger will devote more time to new teaching professionals in an effort to help establish themselves and find their teaching style.

“Carol will be a great addition to the Southeast section as well as serving on our national executive committee board,” said Dana Rader, LPGA Teaching and Club Professional National President.  “She brings a lot of wisdom, energy, passion and experience to our association and I am thrilled to have her on the team.  Carol has always been a high achiever and I can not think of any one more qualified than her to take the southeast section to the next level.”
